Master Class hosted by Judy Luo

The Everyday Dance Master Class is facilitated by contemporary dance artist, educator, and writer, Judy Luo. It welcomes participants with any levels of dance experience and abilities! Informed by her experiences with international living, big stages, community building, and the magic of the mundane, she weaves these threads of everyday life into movement souvenirs.

Between awakening and sleeping, we move, we feed, we connect and we repeat!
Journeying through set exercises and “follow-along” style improvisation, the structure of this class consists of:

• “Morning”:  follow along warm up and body scan from head to toe with descriptive imagery and mechanics of the body
• “Midday”: rehearsal/school/work : task and games involving the body in relationship to the space, and each other
• “Meals” : a recipe of choreography and steps
• “Evening” : sharing and exchanging with each other
• “Night” :  sometimes a cool down, sometimes a dance party, we form the ending of the day as needed.

Participants can expect to leave the Everyday Dance Master Class with a dance to take away and share, tools to make their own, and a curious eye to spot the choreography that happens in their every day.
