Arts Camp participants will enjoy a refreshing mix of specialised arts instruction and traditional day camp activities including archery, arts and crafts, water games, hiking, campfire, theme day activities, special guests and more. Our Arts Camp will share their time between our beautiful 50-acres of outdoor space, and our newly renovated indoor facilities. All Arts Camp participants will be provided with a delicious and nutritious lunch in our indoor cafeteria.
Cartooning
Our qualified arts specialists will introduce campers of all artistic abilities and experience levels to the skills required to produce hand-drawn animated images. Campers will learn to tell stories through a range of cartooning skills. Participants will have the opportunity to see their imagination come to life throughout the week as they work to develop their skills and explore their own creativity. Campers will have the opportunity to show off their creations at our end of the week campfire. Back to top
Sketching
The workshops provided during this program will expose campers to a variety of sketching mediums used to create pieces of work influenced by different styles of sketching including still life, portraits, landscapes and more. At the end of the week, campers have the start of a well-rounded portfolio and get to share their hard work with fellow campers and camp staff at our camp wide campfire. Back to top
Sculpture
Artistic campers who enjoy getting messy and working with their hands will love this NEWLY IMPROVED program.
Campers participating in our sculpture program are in for a professional pottery experience. These campers will get to explore a variety of different sculpture materials led by our speciality artist. Throughout the week, all campers will go through the process of designing, creating, glazing, and firing their own pottery pieces. Campers will get to share their work with the rest of the campers at our Friday Campfire. All sculpture pieces created at camp will be sent home at the end of the week! Back to top
Watercolour
Welcome to the wonderful world of watercolour painting. Campers participating in this program are in for a treat!
Our specialist leading this program will focus on teaching all the skills and techniques used to successfully create beautiful works of watercolour. Taking inspiration from the beautiful landscape around camp, campers will have the opportunity to test out their new skills in a variety of watercolour painting projects. MIXED MEDIA
Camp Laureate’s Mixed Media Art program gives campers an opportunity to try a wide variety of different art avenues.
This program blends instruction, exploration and creativity and provides a wonderful experience for campers of all ages. Our resident artists are ready to provide a range of artistic experiences for campers of all ability levels to build and develop their skills. Our goal for this camp is for campers to be exposed to different artistic mediums that they may not have used before, and to have fun exploring all this program has to offer! At the end of the week, campers will get to share their art with fellow campers and staff at our week ending campfire. Back to top
Painting
Join us for this beloved painting program, led by our wonderful and highly trained painting specialists.
Throughout the week campers will be given specialized instruction to help them develop their painting techniques. Campers will spend their time in our professional art studio creating a wide variety of art pieces using different painting mediums such as acrylic and oil-based paints. Our low camper to staff ratio will ensure that all campers will receive personalized feedback to help the young artists develop their own unique painting styles. By the end of the week, campers will have the start of a diverse painting portfolio. All campers enrolled in the Painting program will have the opportunity to show off their talents to the other campers and staff at the end of week campfire. Back to top
Photography
Our one-of-a-kind photography program has been designed to allow both beginner and experienced photography enthusiasts to have fun and learn new skills.
This program is run by our onsite photography instructor who will teach campers how to use the different functions of a digital DSLR camera. Daily instruction will be provided for campers of all ages to learn how to share their vision by practicing the steps to set up the perfect shot and testing different angles to snap beautiful photos. By the end of the week campers will have a photography portfolio that they can be proud to show off! With a special focus on the wonderful nature around us on our beautiful 50-acres of land backing onto the Bruce Trail, young photographers will be surrounded by inspiration and stunning landscapes. At the end of the week, photography campers will take home the photos they took on a USB. Back to top
Sewing
New for 2024! Hand stitching can be a wonderful and meditative way to create unique and personalized projects.
Camp Laureate is excited to announce our brand-new sewing program. Designed as a creative and engaging program for campers of all ages. Our knowledgeable art specialists will introduce campers to all the wonders of hand sewing and stitching. Staff will enthusiastically teach campers about sewing equipment, safety, and a variety of techniques to help participants create amazing works of art and guide campers in creating their own hand-stitched projects such as fabric collages, stuffed animals, plushies and more! This program allows for creativity in both design and hand-stitching techniques. Scrapbooking
New for 2024! Our new Scrapbooking camp is a delightful and creative experience for all arts campers!
We are proud to introduce our new Scrapbooking program. Designed by our arts specialist, this program allows campers the opportunity to get creative and learn new skills to take their scrapbooking to the next level. Campers will learn new techniques in layouts, composition, and balance, while working with a variety of hands-on tools and materials. Scrapbooking participants will learn how to add dimension to their work using embellishments, stickers and more! Camp Laureate is thrilled to announce our brand-new Discovery Arts program. This program strives to bring the outside, inside and encourages young artists to explore and appreciate the natural world while expressing themselves through various artistic mediums. Our Discovery Arts program fosters a sense of connection to the environment and promotes creative thinking with found materials. Explore All Our Summer Camps
Aftercare will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Aftercare hours are 4:00-5:30pm. The fee for aftercare is $15 per day, which includes a light snack.
