Living On Campus

Boarding Team

The boarding program provides an on duty staff member twenty-four hours a day to ensure your son/daughter can always connect with an advisor for any needs that may arise.

For safety, there is a security person on site all throughout the night, all exterior doors are pass card enabled and a bevy of security cameras are posted in all common areas.

Orientation and Residence Handbook

Orientation begins after enrolment. Students and parents will receive a welcome email that includes all information, forms, and contacts they will need to start school at Laureate College. A copy of the Residence Handbook is included for students so they will know exactly what to expect before arriving on campus. Once on campus, a member of our boarding team will greet and ensure the new boarder is welcomed and helped to settle into their new living arrangement.

Campus Facilities

Laureate College’s Boarding Program provides a welcoming and caring community environment that helps students become responsible, self-disciplined, and socially skilled in Canadian cultures and values.

We offer on-campus residences at the east (girls) and west (boys) wings on the second floor of the school building. A live-in house parent is residing on each wing as the supervisor and is responsible for the well-being of the boarding students. Each room is fully furnished with bunk beds, closets, desks and chairs and a full bathroom. A limited number of wheelchair-accessible rooms are also available. All rooms come with scenic or courtyard views with plenty of natural light through windows.

There is also a spacious common area for boarders to utilize or hang out. Each wing is equipped with a security system and requires a fob or passcode for entry. Security cameras have been installed in the dormitory hallways for safety and security. Cameras are non-intrusive and are only used to investigate security matters.

Meal Plan

Our professional kitchen staff prepares food and drinks in our commercial-grade kitchen and provides a variety of balanced and nutritious meals and cuisines from different cultures around the world three times a day, seven days a week, served buffet style in our school cafeteria.

Study Hall

All boarders are required to be at the study hall from 6:30 to 9:00 pm to review lessons and work on homework or assignments with additional support from the Boarding Program and Student Life Coordinator.

Additionally, many evening programs like ESL and IELTS preparation classes, writing classes, and reading groups/book clubs are available for students to sign up for. An effort is made to tailor the study hall program to each student’s academic needs and requirements.

On-campus Fitness Centre

Our well-equipped fitness center encourages healthy and active living for our boarding students.

Weekly Laundry Services

The Residence Staff will help students do the laundry twice a week. Students must put their clothes in the laundry bag and leave it in the hallway outside the boarder’s dormitory door every Monday morning. Bags will be collected, contents washed, dried, folded, and returned to boarders by Tuesday or Wednesday. Boarders over 17 are allowed to wash their clothes once a week using the laundry facilities on the second floor.
